I just got off the phone with my aunt. She is in hospice care. Her voice was softer than normal. Her tone was trembling a bit. However her question was piercing. She kept asking me about how I was in fellowship with other believers.
I was puzzled at first since I knew this women to be sharp. She had to be. She was a single woman and a missionary in Japan shortly after WWII. So I continued to answer her question. Then it dawned on me, she was falling. She didn’t remember the question she had just asked me.
But I was impressed. Her mind no longer was fully cooperating so she was talking on automatic. Why – deep down she knew her mission and purpose; encourage others to come into a community of believers. She was staying true to her mission.
In the same way – we need to understand our mission. How do we and our businesses serve others. It can’t be a slogan – it needs to be part of our DNA, our destiny. Its a spiritual service to provide our talents in service of others. When we truly incorporate that into our business – we can see results of our authenticity and alignment.
